Have you heard the big news? Microsoft just announced that Skype for Business Online will be retired on July 31, 2021.
In preparation for this, Microsoft will start onboarding all new Microsoft 365 customers to Microsoft Teams starting Sept 1, 2019. Existing Skype for Business Online customers may continue to use Skype for Business Online between now and July 31, 2021, with no current change to their service.
For anyone unfamiliar with Microsoft Teams, it is Microsoft’s innovative new hub for team collaboration in Office 365 that integrates the people, content, and tools your team needs to be more engaged and effective. In a nutshell, Teams combines instant messaging, video, calling, and document collaboration into a single, integrated app. This exciting announcement really showcases the huge confidence that Microsoft has in Teams and how it enables an entirely new way of working.
