Welcome to the Microsoft 365 Newest Updates series. Every week, we do our best to sift through the most important Message Center updates into an easy-to-digest format so you’re always up-to-date.

With that out of the way, let’s get started:

Music Mode for Teams

Associated Roadmap ID: 83520

Coming soon to a Teams call near you: transmit high-fidelity music over teams. Rock on!

This will allow users to perform music lessons and even hold performances online. While that’s probably not super interesting to our average customer, it comes with some interesting setting changes. Specifically, turning off Teams automatic gain control. This is especially useful if you have an external/professional microphone that can do its own gain management.

Look for this feature to land by the end of September.

Custom List Templates Return to SharePoint Modern

Associated Roadmap ID: 70753

Modern Custom List Templates will soon be available to your organization. Administrators will be able to use PowerShell scripts to create and install list templates. Those templates can be selected and deployed as new lists on any site in the organization.

You should start to see this feature before early September.

Join Meeting Custom Branding

Associated Roadmap ID: 79957

This upcoming release will allow admins to upload their company logo (or other branding) to their Teams admin portal so that it will display when users join meetings created by users in their organization.

The rollout of this feature should complete by late July.

That’s it for the updates of note this week. See you again next week for more updates and changes!
