Welcome to the Microsoft 365 Newest Updates series. Every week, we do our best to sift through the most important Message Center updates into an easy-to-digest format so you’re always up-to-date.
With that out of the way, let’s get started:
Text Web Part Improvements
Finally some updates to the text web part! After the last round, adding some formatting options, a big missing feature was inline images. That will no longer be the case after rollout completes in early October.
Viva Connections Public Preview Begins
Starting now and finishing rollout by September 20, the following Viva Connections features should become available for your tenants:
- Set a SharePoint home site from the SharePoint admin center.
- Create, author, and manage a dashboard from the home site.
- Use Video news links to communicate announcements.
- Use the new Dashboard and Feed web parts on the home site.
- Brand the Viva Connections app for the desktop and mobile experiences for Android and iOS.
Many of these features will become available in SharePoint before the Viva Connections app can be enabled in Teams, but that is on its way. For more information on how to prepare for these changes, see the Microsoft Docs Overview here.
That’s it for the updates of note this week. See you again next week for more updates and changes!
